In Hebrews 6 it says: “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.”

For some this is one of the hardest verses in the Bible to understand because people are confused about the fact that people have tasted the heavenly gift. Most people then assume by tasting the gift that it means they are full blown believers. It is logical to think that but here is what those people need to understand.

What they mean by "tasting it" is that you have experienced the spirit. There are so many ways to just "taste it" even just by listening to a really good sermon you have tasted the spirit, If you see someones life changed as a result of Christ just by witnessing it you have tasted the spirit. however just because you have tasted something doesn't mean you continue to eat it.

The best example I can think of is this game we played up at hume, there was a mystery food game and you have to completly finish it to move on to the next task. So when you get there you take a bite of it and realize it's chocolate cake with mayonaise frosting, just because you tasted it doesn't mean you get to move on, there is obviously no way around the cake you either decide to continue on or stop right there and spit the rest of the cake out, so in order to move on you must completly accept (eat) the cake and by completing the cake (or making the choice to accept Christ and follow him) you get to move on (or go to heaven), and you can't go back they can't take the fact that you have eaten the cake away from you!

So the fact remains, as long as you make the decision to devote your life to following Christ your salvation cannot be taken from you, but those of you who have just tasted it you might want to take a second look and really dig deep and think about the fact that you could spend eternity with Christ in heaven or you could burn in hell and be eternally damned.
